Tips and Tricks for: Visual Interdev, ASP, IIS
The Problem: The Visual Interdev Web Project Wizard doesn't show all existing virtual directoriesWhen you create an New Web project with Visual Interdev 6.0 you're walked through the site creation wizard. Step 2 of the wizard let's you either create a new project or connect to an existing project. If you want to connect the project to an existing virtual directory you use the second option. But when you pull down the dropdown list of sites, you site isn't there.
Solution: Install the FrontPage Server Extensions on Each SiteUse Internet Information Server to install the FrontPage Server Extensions for any site that you want to use with Visual Interdev. They have to be installed in each virtual directory in order for it to show up on the list. Visual Interdev 6.0 relies on the FrontPage Server Extensions to find the vi
